| Over
500 faculty, student, and ensemble concerts are performed
each year, ranging from traditional orchestra, band,
choral, and opera to new music, early music, jazz, and
music of various world cultures. A select 14-event ticketed
series is also presented from September through April.
Tickets to this series (with free reserved parking)
are a benefit of membership at most levels for University
Musical Associates.
The University
Musical Associates (UMA), the community patrons group
for the FSU College of Music, is an integral part of
the performance life of the College. An organization
of active concert attenders, the Associates has grown
in the past 19 years to a membership of nearly 500 households
- generous people from all walks of life who enjoy music
and are committed to the cultural development of Tallahassee
and its surrounding communities.
In
addition to their attendance at music events, the Associates
are a major force in creating important opportunities
for talented students in the College of Music. The organization
provides financial assistance for students to travel
to competitions and professional conferences, and they
also provide financial support for special artists and
scholars to visit Tallahassee for public concerts, lectures,
and master classes. Click
here for a list of University Musical Associates Sponsored
Projects. Their outpouring of support has helped the Florida State University College of Music
to maintain its high national visibility in performance
and scholarly venues.
The
University Musical Associates is guided by an Executive
Committee, a group of 14 community volunteers. Please

members.
