Middle School Band Camp
July 6 - July 12, 2008

At this one- week large ensemble camp, students receive instruction in individual sessions, small sectionals, and large ensembles. We provide students with the opportunity to work directly with faculty from FSU and nationally recognized conductors and teachers. Each classically based curriculum includes music theory, instructional classes, masterclasses, public performances, and optional private lessons. In addition to instruction on their primary instrument, students will also take an elective class to broaden their musical experience. Elective choices include jazz improvisation, conducting, electronic music, percussion ensemble, steel drums and more!

Upon arrival at camp, students will be placed into one of three concert bands.

Optional Private lessons will be offered. Lessons may be organized after the student has been reigstered by using Form J of the registration packet that will be mailed to you. Please review Form J for details on signing up for and paying for priviate lessons.

Students may select an elective class after they are registered for camp by using Form I of the registration packet that will be mailed to you.

No audition required for Middle School Band Camp.

South Florida Bus Service

We will be offering chaperoned bus service for Middle Schol Band Camp from South Florida. The bus will make stops in Miami, Boca Raton, Port St. Lucie and Orlando on July 6 and will return to the same stops on July 12th. The cost for the bus service will be $85.00 one way or $150.00 for roundtrip. Please click here for additional information.

Open to students attending grades 5-8 in the 07-08 school year.
8th Graders may choose to attend either Middle School or Senior High Camp.
