University Musical Associates

For the 2012-2013 concert season we will be offering the University Musical Associates an exceptional series of events including four opportunities to hear the University Symphony Orchestra; two Faculty Chamber Recitals, one featuring "Trios" music from Brahms, Bartok, Ingolf Dahl, and Dvorak, and the other featuring the music of John Cage; two jazz concerts; the Wind Orchestra; Symphonic Band; the Chamber Choir; the University Singers; and both the fall and spring operas. This Series will be presented from September to April and includes free reserved parking, as well as the opportunity to purchase PRISM, Seasonal Celebration and Rainbow Concert tickets prior to their availability to the general public.

The University Musical Associates, the community patrons' group for the FSU College of Music, are an integral part of the performance life of the College. An organization of active concert attendees, the Associates has grown in the past 24 years to a membership of nearly 400 households.

In addition to their attendance at music events, the Associates are a major force in creating important opportunities for talented students in the College of Music. The organization provides financial assistance for students to travel to competitions and professional conferences, and they also provide financial support for special artists and scholars to visit Tallahassee for public concerts, lectures, and master classes. The University Musical Associates is guided by an Executive Committee, a group of 14 community volunteers. Please see a complete listing of Committee members.
