Composers Helping to Advance Student Music

Mission Statement

The purpose of CHASM is to further the development and performance of student works. This student run festival will promote communication both between student composers and between composers and performers.

CHASM is a one-day music festival created and run by student composers at Florida State University. Graduate students at FSU created the event as a means of getting new student works performed. Students from across the country are encouraged to submit works. Composers involved will have the opportunity to hear their works performed and meet other student composers and performers.
