Private Lessons
Though all of our camps provide individualized instruction, some of our camps also offer optional private lessons. If you are interested in singing up for private lessons, please read the information below.
Choral Ensemble Camp - Private Lessons By Audition - Optional
This camp offers private lessons through an elective class called Class Voice. A maximum of 16 students will be selected for Class Voice based on an optional audition which takes place on check-in day. Selected students will prepare a piece to perform at the Solo Recital on Thursday evening. There is no cost for the lessons if you are selected.
To be considered you must audition at camp check-in. Auditions will not be held at any other time. If you are unable to arrive at camp during the designated check-in time you will not be able to audition for private lessons. Information on what to prepare for your audition can be found in the camp handbook.
Honors Chamber Winds Camp - Optional
This camp offers students the option to sign up for private lessons at an additional cost of $25.00 per 45-minute lesson*.
All lessons are organized and paid for on the first day of camp at check-in. Payments for lessons are payable by cash or check only and checks must be made payable directly to the instructor.
Lessons are scheduled with a teacher based on availability*. The lesson will take place during lunch; no lessons are scheduled outside of the 8am-5pm class day.
*Most lessons will be with a graduate student. In the rare case that an FSU faculty member is available for a lesson, the cost will be $45.00 for a 45-minute lesson.
Piano Camp - Included
Campers at Piano Camp will automatically receive private lessons which will be 50 minutes each. Teacher assignments are made in advance, so if you wish to request a specific teacher please contact the camp office prior to June 1st. If no request is made, you will be assigned a private teacher.
FSU Piano Institute - Included
Students who are selected for the Piano Institute will automatically receive private lessons from FSU faculty members, twice per week for 50 minutes each. Teacher assignments are made in advance, so if you wish to request a specific teacher please contact the camp office prior to June 1st. If no request is made, you will be assigned a private teacher.
Middle School Band Camp - Optional
This camp offers students the option to sign up for private lessons at an additional cost of $25.00 per 45-minute lesson*.
All lessons are organized and paid for on the first day of camp at check-in. Payments for lessons are payable by cash or check only and checks must be made payable directly to the instructor.

String Orchestra Camp - Optional
This camp offers students the option to sign up for private lessons at an additional cost of $25.00 per 45-minute lesson*.
All lessons are organized and paid for on the first day of camp at check-in. Payments for lessons are payable by cash or check only and checks must be made payable directly to the instructor.
Lessons are scheduled with a teacher based on availability*. The lesson will take place during lunch or during theory class; no lessons are scheduled outside of the 8am-5pm class day.
*No FSU faculty members are available for lessons at this camp. Lesson are provided by graduate students only.
