Discounts
We believe that music education should be available to everyone, therefore, we try to make our camps as affordable as possible. We offer several types of discounts to help reduce the cost of camp tuition. Each type of discount has specific instructions and application deadlines, so please read carefully.
Students may apply for more than one type of discount for each camp they attend, but the total amount of combined discounts received for each camp may not exceed the tuition portion of the camp cost less the $75.00 non-refundable deposit. If a student is in need of additional discounts to cover housing costs or the remaining tuition portion, they are able to use outside funding such as school boosters, local organization and arts organizations.
The types of discounts we offer are:
Early Bird Registration Discount (valid from January 2 - March 1, 2012)
Ability Discount (deadline February 17, 2012)
Event Discount
Matching Discount
Workshop Discount
Early Bird Registration Discount
Guidelines:
*This discount is available for all camps EXCEPT the Elementary Music Day Camp, Honors Piano Camp and Honors Chamber Winds Camp.
If you register for camp(s) between January 2, 2012 and March 1, 2012 AND pay the $75.00 deposit in full for each camp, you will automatically receive $50.00 off of the cost of tuition for each camp. No forms are necessary to receive this discount.
Special note for Young Females auditioning for Choral Ensemble Camp: Because you must audition, you will not be able to register during the Early Bird time period. However, if you are accepted to camp, we will extend the early bird discount to you at that time.
Special note for students auditioning for Honors Chamber Winds: This discount does not apply to Honors Chamber Winds as there is no tuition cost for accepted students. However, if you are planning to attend Senior High Band Camp in the event that you are not accepted to Honors Chamber Winds, we will extend the early bird discount to you for Senior High Band Camp at that time.
Instructions:
If you are registering online, the discount is applied automatically.
Under the tuition charges you will see the tuition portion listed as "Early Bird Tuition".
If you are registering by mail:
We will automatically apply the discount to your account when your registration form is received by our office on or before March 1. Visit our registration page for a downloadable registration form.
Ability Discounts
Guidelines:
Ability Discounts are available for the following camps: Senior High Band Camp, Middle School Band Camp, String Orchestra Camp, Choral Ensemble Camp, Jazz Ensemble Camp: Senior High; Jazz Ensemble Camp: Middle School, and Honors Piano Camp.
- Honors Piano Camp students: You do not need to submit an Ability Discount application. Your audition cd will be automatically reviewed for an Ability Discount.
- Honors Chamber Winds students: Because there is not tuition cost for this camp if you are accepted, there are no Ability Discounts. However, your audition cd will be reviewed for an Ability Discount to Senior High Band Camp in the event that you are not admitted to Honors Chamber Winds. You do not need to send in a separate Ability Discount Application for that camp.
- Choral Ensemble Young Female students auditing to be admitted to camp: You do not need to submit an Ability Discount application. Your audition cd will be automatically reviewed for an Ability Discount.
In order to be considered for an Ability Discount, you must prepare a recording and resume. Discounts range in amount from $25.00-$300.00. You may apply for more than one type of discount, however, the combined total amount of discounts received from the FSU Summer Music Camps can not exceed the tuition portion of the camp cost less the $75.00 non-refundable deposit.
Recordings will not be reviewed until after the February 17 deadline. You will be notified our our decision in writing.
If you would like to apply for an Ability Discount for multiple camps, you must send in a separate form, resume and recording for each camp. You can mail them to us in the same envelope/box, but each camp must have it's own discount application materials.
