Jazz Ensemble Camp: Middle School

The Jazz Ensemble Camp: Middle School is designed to introduce campers to the foundations of jazz music and performance. Campers will play and perform in one of two big bands and will take classes in improvisation, jazz appreciation, sectionals, and master classes. They will also participate in evening jam sessions where they can work on their new skills, listen to other players, and experience jazz on a new level.

| Eligibility |
Campers must have attended grades 7 or 8 in the '11-'12 school year. (Rising 7th graders during summer 2012 are not eligible). |
| Ability Level | All Ability levels; campers should have at least one year of school instruction or equivalent. |
| Cost for Day Campers |
$260.00 Includes tuition Only. No housing or meals. |
| Cost for Overnight Campers |
$441.00 Cost includes tuition ($260) and housing with three meals per day ($181). |
| Camp Check-In |
Sunday, June 10, 2012 1:00pm - 3:00pm (EST) All campers must attend check-in. If you can not arrive during the designated times due to extenuating circumstances, arrangements must be made in advance with the camp office. |
| Camp Check-Out |
Saturday, June, 16, 2012 A final concert will be held on this day. Check-out will follow the performance. |
| Audition Required? | No audition is required to register, however, there will be a placement audition on check-in day to determine ensemble placement. Information about preparing for this audition will be provided in the camp handbook. |
| How To Register | Registration is now open for all other instruments except Alto-Saxophone, Tenor-Saxophone and Trumpet. Visit our registration page for details on how to register. We have reached our capacity for Alto-Saxophone, Tenor-Saxophone, Trumpet and Drums and have begun a wait list for that instrument. You will not be able to register online. Please call our office at 850-644-9934 if you play alto-saxophone and would like to be placed on the wait list. |

| Instruments |
All campers must bring their own instrument to camp. Drummers must bring their own drum kit. Electric guitar and electric bass players must bring their own amplifiers and power cords. |
