Honors Piano Camp
Sunday, June 10 - Saturday, June 23, 2012
DEADLINE EXTENDED!!!!! We have redesigned our Honors Piano Camp to provide a more academy-like atmosphere aimed at serious students considering a career in music. During two weeks of intensive study, students will receive private lessons from FSU faculty and will focus on building technique, refining interpretation, and preparing for performances. Students will take part in a wide range of classes including music theory, piano literature and music history, as well as a daily elective class. A full list of elective classes and descriptions can be found by clicking here. Daily workshops and master classes will feature FSU faculty and guest artists. Public performance opportunities include off-campus events and a final recital at FSU. In addition to our regular discounts, we are also introducing a limited number of full-tuition Ability Discounts for select students based on their audition.
The students' musical day begins at 8:00am and ends at 5:00pm. Each day is divided into class periods and includes an hour break for lunch. A sample daily schedule has been provided below. Each evening, students can participate in recreational activities such as bowling, swimming, movie nights, ice cream socials, game nights and more. Official recreation schedules are handed out at camp check-in, but you can click here for a sample schedule.
Auditions are required for this camp. Recorded auditions must be postmarked by March 30, 2012. Live auditions will be held in Tallahassee on February 18, 2012. Recorded and live auditions are given the same weight. Please see below for detailed information.
