Honors Chamber Winds Camp

The Honors Chamber Winds Camp provides a unique opportunity for fifteen musicians who seek an exceptional summer experience. Two flutes, two oboes, two clarinets, two bassoons, two trumpets, one trombone, one tuba, and three horns are selected by audition to work on a collegiate level with FSU faculty members. In addition to regular practice and instruction, all campers will perform in quintets specializing in music for small wind ensembles. Campers at this camp also create the wind section of the Symphony Orchestra.
If you are looking for advanced, pre-collegiate instruction this is the camp for you!
Auditions are required for this camp. Recorded auditions must be postmarked by February 17, 2012. Please see below for detailed information.

Campers must have attended grades 9-12 in the ‘11-’12 school year. (Rising 9th graders during summer 2012 are not eligible). |

$391.00 There is no tuition cost for this camp. Cost includes housing with three meals per day. |
| Camp Check-In |
Sunday, June 24, 2012 9:00am-12:00pm (EST) All campers must attend check-in. If you can not arrive during the designated times due to extenuating circumstances, arrangements must be made in advance with the camp office. |

Saturday, July 7, 2012 A final concert will be held on this day. Check-out will follow the performance. |

Audition Required?
| Yes. Deadline to postmark recorded audition materials is February 17, 2012.
AUDITION GUIDELINES: Your audition will also be reviewed for an Ability Discount to Senior High Band Camp in the event that you are not accepted to Honors Chamber Winds. You do NOT need to send a separate tape for Senior High Band Camp Ability Discount.
AUDITION INSTRUCTIONS:
There will also be a placement audition on check-in day to determine your quintet assignment and an optional audition during camp for the Honors Solo Recital. |
| How to Register | You can not register for this camp unless you have auditioned and received notice of your acceptance. A special registration form will be sent to you if you are accepted. DO NOT SEND MONEY WITH YOUR AUDITION. If you plan to attend Senior High Band Camp in the event that you are not accepted to Honors Chamber Winds, please WAIT TO REGISTER until AFTER you have received notice of our decision. There will be a spot available for you at that time. |
| Available Discounts | Because there is no tuition for this camp, there are no discounts available. However, if you are planning to attend Senior High Band Camp as your second choice if you are not accepted to this camp, the Ability Discount and Early Bird Discount may apply: Early Bird Discount: If you are planning to attend Senior High Band Camp if you are not accepted to Honors Chamber Winds, we will extend the early bird discount to you for Senior High Band Camp at that time. Ability Discount: Your audition recording will be automatically review for an Ability Discount for Senior High Band Camp if you are not accepted to Chamber Winds. You do not need to send in a separate application for a Senior High Band Camp Ability Discount. |

All students will perform on Thursday and Saturday. Campers wishing to perform in the Honors Solo Recital must audition. |
