Double Bass Workshop

Wednesday, June 19 - Saturday, June 22, 2013

Double Bass Workshop Image

This specialized workshop for double bass players gives campers an opportunity to focus on skills and repertoire specific to their instrument. Campers will work alongside FSU faculty members to study solo and ensemble literature, tone production, technique development, how to practice for maximum effectiveness and how to prepare for an audition. Campers will attend master classes, bowing technique classes, and practice sessions. All campers will practice and perform in a small ensemble.

A sample schedule has been provided below. Due to the short time span of this workshop students attending this workshop should be prepared to attend camp activities from 8:00am-5:00pm and from 7:00-9:30pm.  This includes fundamental classes, ensemble rehearsals and masterclasses. Official schedules are distributed at check-in.

For an even more extensive experience, consider combining the Double Bass Workshop with our String Orchestra Camp. The individual attention of the workshop combined with large ensemble instruction creates the ideal, well-rounded instructional experience. A $150.00 discount is available to students who register and apply for this workshop & String Orchestra Camp. Visit our discount page for more information on how to apply.
