Statement of Purpose

Tallahassee Winds is designed to provide opportunities for advanced level wind and percussion players, who live within the Tallahassee area, to play quality band literature in formal concert settings. It is also designed to bring together music educators, musicians from the community, university musicians, and outstanding high school musicians, into one organization where music performance can be achieved in a challenging yet enjoyable format. Further, Tallahassee Winds hopes to add to the cultural opportunities available to the citizens of Tallahassee and the surrounding areas, by providing audiences with programs containing a wide variety of band music that is accessible and enjoyable to hear.
