Special Music Education

College of Music Specialized Studies Programs represent special areas of concentration which students may pursue in conjunction with a music degree. Following are course requirements for each specialized studies program available in the College of Music. Inasmuch as many programs have special admission criteria, students must contact the Coordinator listed before beginning any specialized studies program. Specialized Studies Program in Special Music Education (12 hours) (Dr. Alice-Ann Darrow, Coordinator - 220 KMU 645-1438)
MUE 4391 (3) Music in Special Education
MUS 4612 (3) Psychology in Music Learning (MUS 4611 is prerequisite)
MUY 3601 (3) Music Recreation Techniques
MUS 4905 (3) DIS: Practicum in Special Music Education

 

The Specialized Studies Program in Special Music Education may be pursued only in conjunction with the Bachelor of Music Education degree or Bachelor of Music degree in Music Therapy.
